Walt Disney World Grand Opening TV Special
Here is the grand opening of Walt Disney World on the Wonderful World of Disney. I never saw this special until recently, even I have to admit it's pretty bad. But looking at all the classic Walt Disney World images is pretty fun! I'll take the bad with the good! I'll be posting part 2 tomorrow.

20,000 Leagues under the sea.
With Fantasy Land about to become "vintage", I wanted to take a look back at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This submarine attraction was a major staple in Fantasy Land for years before being closed in 1994. Reports state that it was very costly to maintain and had a very low load capacity, thus creating very long lines. (Long lines at WDW? I don't believe it!) I do remember how immersive the experience was. (Or should I say "submersive") When I was young, I was convinced we actually went deep underwater.

White Water Rapids
Ah, River Country, Walt Disney World! I remember this drop at the end, when I was little - it seemed so BIG! I know this is tame by todays standards, but I really enjoyed the white water rapids. My brothers and I had a game to see who could make the ride last the longest by getting hung up in some of the pools they had. Eventually a cast member would "push" us on our way!
